Timnas U-16 Perbaiki Pertahanan Jelang Lawan Thailand

Tim sepak bola nasional Indonesia U-16 akan memperbaiki lini pertahanan jelang laga penyisihan grup G kualifikasi Piala AFC U-16 2018 menghadapi tim tuan rumah Thailand di Stadion Rajamangla Bangkok, Thailand, pada Rabu (20/9).

"Kami sudah punya catatan permainan mereka dan kami evaluasi kinerja permainan kami saat lawan Timor-Leste kemarin," kata pelatih tim sepak bola nasional U-16 Fakhri Husaini dalam keterangan tertulis Persatuan Sepak Bola Seluruh Indonesia (PSSI) yang diterima di Jakarta, Selasa (19/9).

Fakhri mengatakan evaluasi penampilan tim Garuda muda itu antara lain pada lini belakang dan lini tengah pada sesi latihan ringan. "Kami sudah pernah menghadapi tim Thailand pada Piala AFF 2017 dan kami hanya kalah 0-1. Mereka tentu akan mengubah pola permainannya nanti. Itu wajar karena mereka punya beberapa pilihan taktik," ujar Fakhri.

Tim pelatih, lanjut Fakhri, juga memantau hasil pertandingan tim Thailand menghadapi tim Kepulauan Mariana Utara dengan skor 10-0. "Kami harus mewaspadai semua pemain Thailand dan pola permainan mereka. Ada pemain mereka yang disimpan oleh pelatih pada pertandingan kemarin. Kami minta kepada semua peman kami untuk tidak meremehkan lawan," kata Fakhri.

Kapten timnas U-16 David Maulana berharap rekan-rekan satu timnya mempunyai semangat bermain sebagaimana saat tertinggal 0-1 pada babak pertama ketika menghadapi tim Timor-Leste. "Semangat teman-teman tidak turun dan pantang menyerah meski tertinggal pada babak pertama. Saya berharap semangat itu juga muncul saat kami menghadapi tim Thailand," ujar David.

Pemain bernomor punggung enam itu mengatakan timnya juga mengevaluasi permainan saat kalah dari Thailand pada kejuaraan Piala AFF 2017. "Apapun rintangannya, kami akan mengejar tanpa kenal lelah demi Indonesia," ujar David.

Kemenangan timnas U-16 Indonesia atas Timor-Leste pada Senin (18/9) menambah poin tim Merah-Putih dalam laga penyisihan grup G menjadi enam setelah mengantongi satu kemenangan sebelumnya atas tim Kepulauan Marian Utara. Indonesia juga masih menempati urutan pertama grup yang juga diisi tim Timor-Leste, tim Thailand, tim Laos, dan tim Kepulauan Mariana Utara itu.

Sebelumnya pada pertandingan perdana grup G, Sabtu (16/9), tim sepak bola nasional Indonesia U-16 meraih kemenangan besar 18-0 atas tim Kepulauan Mariana Utara. Timnas U16 Indonesia masih mempunyai dua pertandingan penyisihan grup menghadapi tim Thailand pada Rabu (20/9) dan menghadapi tim Laos pada Jumat (22/9).
