Agus mengatakan, tujuan dilakukannya pemutaran film penumpasan Gerakan-30 September/Partai Komunis Indonesia, sebagai edukasi dan menanamkan pemahaman tentang sejarah bangsa kepada masyarakat terutama kalangan anak-anak generasi penerus bangsa.
"Bahwa pengkhianatan yang dilakukan terhadap bangsa dan negara Indonesia tersebut adalah Gerakan Partai Komunis Indonesia atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan G30S/PKI," ujarnya seperti dilansir Antara, Sabtu (16/9)/
Kata dia, nobar film kekejaman yang dilakukan oleh Gerakan Partai Komunis Indonesia atau PKI, bertujuan agar seluruh Rakyat Indonesia, khususnya di Lhokseumawe mengetahui sejarah yang sebenarnya. "PKI-lah yang merongrong Keutuhan NKRI saat itu. Jadi apabila terdapat oknum-oknum yang mencoba memutarbalikkan sejarah tersebut, kita rakyat Indonesia tidak akan terpengaruh oleh tipu daya mereka," ungkap Kolonel Inf Agus Firman Yusmono.
Kepada masyarakat di sekitar Makorem 011/Lilawangsa diharapkan dapat menonton bersama film dimaksud yang akan dilakukan pada tanggal 30 September di lapangan Jenderal Sudirman Lhokseumawe. Agus kembali mengatakan pemahaman tentang sejarah bangsa sangat penting dilakukan terutama kepada generasi muda.
Sehingga mereka tidak mudah terkontaminasi maupun terpengaruh oleh argumentasi atau hasutan dari kelompok-kelompok yang ingin memecah belah Keutuhan Bangsa dan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI). "Oleh karena itu, kami mengajak kepada seluruh prajurit TNI bersama dengan masyarakat untuk dapat menghadiri acara nonton bersama pada Sabtu tanggal 30 September 2017 di lapangan Jenderal Sudirman," ajak Danrem 011/Lilawangsa.
