 Warga dua desa di Tembagapura akhirnya berhasil dibebaskan dari jerat kelompok kriminal bersenjata. Tim yang dibuat TNI dari berbagai satuan berhasil menguasai kedua desa hanya dalam waktu 78 menit.

Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Kolonel (Inf) Muhammad Aidi mengatakan, tim gabungan dari 13 personel Parako Kopassus, 30 personel Yonif 715/Raider, dan Taipur Kostrad bersama mengepung dua desa, yakni Kimbely dan Banti. Kedua tim bergerak mulai pukul 04.17 WIT menuju ke posisi yang sudah ditentukan sambil menunggu aba-aba.

"Pada waktu yang dikoordinasi pada Jam “J” pada pukul 07.00. Pasukan mulai bergerak ke arah posisi Kelompok KKB yang sedang berkumpul. 07.45 WIT suara ledakan dibunyikan dan seluruh anggota sniper langsung melakukan penyerangan kepada KKB sedang berkumpul di kandang babi di daerah Utikini," kata Aidi dalam keterangannya, Jumat (17/11).

Serangan tiba-tiba yang dilakukan pasukan mengejutkan anggota KKB yang berada di lokasi. Mereka lalu berhamburan melarikan diri ke segala arah.

"Kelompok OPM berhamburan melarikan diri tanpa bisa melakukan perlawanan karena mereka sudah bisa memastikan itu adalah pasukan Parako (Para Komando-red) Kopassus," imbuh Aidi.

Tepat pukul 08.18 WIT seluruh area Kimbely berhasil dikuasai. Pangdam Cenderawasih Mayjen TNI George Elnadus Supit memerintahkan tim untuk bergerak menguasai pos-pos pengamanan separatis TPN/OPM.

"Dalam waktu 78 menit seluruh seluruh area berhasil dikuasai dan para separatis melarikan diri ke hutan dan gunung, sambil mengeluarkan tembakan dari jarak jauh. Belum bisa dipastikan apakah kelompok separatis OPM ada yang korban karena cuaca berkabut sanggat tebal," jelas Aidi.

Setelah memastikan seluruh wilayah aman, George berkoordinasi dengan Kapolda Papua Irjen Pol Boy Rafli Amar untuk segera mengirim tim evakuasi ke lokasi. Evakuasi baru bisa dilaksanakan pada pukul 14.00 WIT.

"Proses evakuasi berhasil dilaksanakan dengan jumlah korban sandera 347 orang terdiri dari warga Papua dan luar Papua," tutur dia.

Aidi mengatakan, penduduk asli setempat memilih tetap tinggal dengan jaminan keamanan dan dukungan logistik dari pemerintah Mimika. Seluruh personel TNI tetap berada di lokasi untuk menjaga agar warga tidak terpengaruh dengan kelompok separatis ini.

"Saat pasukan pengaman tetap tinggal di lokasi mengamankan korban dan kampung. Tugas Tim Parako Kopassus selesai di Kimbely dan menunggu perintah selanjutnya," ucap Aidi.
